Vintage Dish Towels...Tablecloths...Barkcloth Fabric

For the past two days, my sister Lorraine & I, have been listing & laundering. Laundering old linens & listing them on eBay. We made this fabulous find at an estate. The woman must have had a fetish for linen kitchen/tea towels (there were over 150 of them). I've never seen anything like it. I own about 10 dish towels & use only a few (thanks to the dishwasher). But...as I was laundering these towels...I started to really appreciate the beauty of these vintage textiles. So Pretty...Here are a few of our favorites...

SOUTHERN LADY KITCHEN/TEA TOWEL...

RED ROSES KITCHEN/TEA TOWEL...

In addition to towels, there were about 25 tablecloths. Here is one...we love & think it's from the 1970's "Flower Power Era". Cheerful & Bright & much needed at this time of the year.

FLOWER POWER TABLECLOTH...

The woman must have sewn because there were about 100 pieces of fabric. Barkcloth, linen, cotton from every decade since the 1940's. Here are two of our favorite pieces of barkcloth:

VINTAGE BARKCLOTH...FARM SCENE...

VINTAGE BARKCLOTH...ROSES...

And last, but not least... and sooooo Anthropologie Like...

VINTAGE STRAWBERRY APRON...

"Holiday Brain" Too Much Going On, that we can't keep anything straight...

"We call this “holiday brain” around here…

Too much going on, that we can’t keep anything straight..."

"WOW" Now I know!!!

Too much shopping, too much decorating, too much baking, too much working, too, Too MUCH!!!

Okay, I love Christmas, but sometimes...I just can't motivate myself to decorate my store windows. I have to a lot of decorating to do. At the store, I am the janitor, the stockman, the bookkeeper, the decorator, the buyer, and the seller. So sometimes...my creative juices get bogged down with the everyday chores that need to be done. I thoroughly enjoy decorating, but after the 4th tree things get a little foggy. It is December 6th & I still have one tree left to decorate & one tree to redecorate because the lights blew out :( and one store window (I did one the day before Thanksgiving). PLEASE GOD GIVE ME ENERGY TO START...Oh I mean FINISH...

Progress So Far...
