Kathleen Rose's Collection: April 2009

Hello,

I would like to introduce myself. My name is Kathleen Sforza. I am partners with my mother, Jeanette Sforza and my sister, Lorraine Razzano in a shop called Town & Country Gifts located in Staten Island, NY. We have been in business since September 1987.

~Our Story~

When we first opened our business, we were a Country Store & we were all about "Geese". We were called "Town & Country Gifts & Crafts" and we sold many ducks, pigs, cows & bears. Years have passed, times have changed and we have reinvented ourselves. We are now called Town & Country Gifts with an emphasis on:

"Kathleen Rose's Collection" and "Lorraine's Favorite Finds".

Here is "Our Story"....

~ Lorraine's Favorite Finds ~

It all started when our parents purchased a bungalow colony in The Catskills, NY with a group of our father's firemen friends. Suddenly, our mother had to furnish a summer home with a limited budget, four children, and lots of visitors.

This was our first introduction to yard sales, thrift shops, auctions, and antique shops. From then on, yard sales and estate sales became our stomping ground. Saturday nights were often spent at the "Auction". We loved bidding on the "Boxed Lots". They were like treasure chests. You never knew what you would find!!!

We have yet to find our Antiques Road Show's "Million Dollar Treasure" but, we never give up hope!!!

At the time, my sister and I thought it was all just "JUNK". Flash forward 35 years, older and wiser, we now "LOVE" all that "JUNK" and we actually "ENJOY" doing everything we once "HATED". Go figure!!!

In order for us to keep doing what we "LOVE" ~Rescuing Lost Treasures~ we must sell some our "FINDS". Thus the birth of "Lorraine's Favorite Finds".

I was watching the movie "You've Got Mail" and in one part of the movie they referred to Kathleen Kelly's mother and bookstore as "Charming'". I thought... Wow... Pretty, Charming, & Delightfully Inviting...Kathleen Rose's Collection. From then on, I purchased items for our store that were Pretty, Charming, & Delightfully Inviting...

Kathleen Rose's Collection offers new items in the shabby, cottage, vintage chic style.
