I am always an optimist & I want to think that all is well, but it has been and it still is a scary situation for many of us. In order to succeed...I must run a lean, mean, operating machine. The small business owner in me knows that this time of the year is crucial to my survival as a retailer...but the spiritual human being in me knows the true meaning of Christmas. It is a wonderful, magical time of year

"For God so loved the world, that He have His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should no perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16).

I must put my faith in God that all will be fine & that things are as they should be. So, as the season of Advent begins...I will try to remember that...

We could really use our Fairy Godmother.

Today...

we are feeling a bit like Cinderella.

Sometimes...

we wish that our Fairy Godmother would appear & make all our

hopes...wishes...& dreams come true ???

Of course,

we have so many of them !!!

Our Wish...Is

for our business to survive this Great Recession Depression

&

(like Cinderella)

we are feeling that it may be

IMPOSSIBLE !!!

But...a Fairy Godmother could make the...

But, how many chances does it take..

to make our wishes come true ??? 

Well, as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother said...

My Sister...LORRAINE !!!

She helps me so much & has more energy than anyone I know...& when I ask her how she does it she replies...

"I have a Husband & 3 Kids !!!" 

So now, I see that is the key...

& unlike her, I have neither a husband nor any kids. 

She whips through the store & staightens up my messes. So...not only does she have a husband & 3 Kids...she has a "Sister" Too...


All I can say is Thank God for Sisters...

The Taupe Scarf...Miracle

Small miracles occur everyday & I think sometimes...

we just need to become more aware of them.

The  Taupe  Scarf   Story...

Today, I had a scarf returned to my store. It had been a Christmas present & the person who received it wanted to exchange it for something else. I had hoped she would do an even exchange, because I realized I only had one $1.00 bill & one $100.00 bill in the register (duhhh...I forgot to go to the bank & get change for the store). After she left, I ran across the street to the bank. You know banks...short line, but long wait.

I left a note on the store door saying "I'd be right back".

While on line, I hoped that no one was waiting for me.

Finally, I get back to the store & started working around when suddenly...

I realize that I had forgotten to take the note off the door.

As I open the door to take the note down, a car pulls up & it's one of my customers. She comes in & asks me if I have a...Taupe Scarf...like the grey one she was wearing.

She tells me that the scarf is for "so & so" (intentionally leaving her name out...she is one of our customers & she happens to be this customer's best friend).

I asked her how her friend was feeling (friend was diagnosed with leukemia in September & the last time I saw her friend was around Thanksgiving when she had been in our store shopping with her sisters for the the holidays). She said that, unfortunately, she was back in the hospital getting treatment & hoping for a bone marrow transplant. She said that her friend had called her & asked if she could go & buy the scarf for her.

With this said, I didn't know whether I should tell her that the scarf had just been RETURNED...but I had to tell her because it was just such a coincidence. She went on to tell me that last week she was going to stop, but she said she wasn't sure we were open because she didn't see our "OPEN" sign &

that there was a note on door...So she told her friend that she didn't think that we were open & that she would stop back on Thursday (today) to get the scarf.

I said...

"Yes, we were open, but I wouldn't have had the scarf last week because the scarf was just RETURNED!!!"

A small miracle for someone in the hospital fighting for her life. If her friend had come in last week, I wouldn't have had the scarf in stock. I had sold out of the taupe color. I think that God knew that she wanted the Taupe Scarf & found a way to make sure that she would receive it.

Now I am praying for another miracle...

 that this beautiful young woman will go back into remission
&
finds a bone marrow donor.

Miracles come in all sizes & they are all important.
